Manchester I.M.P.S.
Manchester I.M.P.S. started in 2000. We cover approximately 80 schools in the Manchester City Council area and train around 2500 children per year.
I.M.P.S. programme
Within the terms of our current funding we are only able to deliver the I.M.P.S. programme to Manchester City Council Schools.
Our I.M.P.S. sessions are run at the new Manchester Children’s Hospital and Wythenshawe Hospital. We are hoping to be able to offer schools in the north of the city visits to North Manchester General Hospital from September 2009.
There is no cost, other than the transport. We currently have a waiting list.
Other programmes
I.M.P.S. is delivered as part of the Manchester child accident prevention strategy. We have developed the following projects which complement, lead up to and on from I.M.P.S.
- ELFS for 3 to 5 year olds and their parents
- ORCS for 14 to 16 year olds.
We also support secondary school communities to affiliate to the British Heart Foundation’s Heartstart schools scheme.
We are happy to work with special schools to adapt all of our projects to appropriate age groups.
Please contact us for further information, including prices.
