On 8th February 2005, the IMPS Team (Injury Minimization Programme for Schools) took part in the “Deep Down Fun” event held at The Deep. Approximately 250 children and young people from schools all over Hull participated.
The event was organised to give the children of Hull a chance to voice their opinions on a wide range of issues from bullying to keeping and feeling safe. These views will be used to help shape the way services for children and young people will develop over the next two years.
Children took part in various activities, such as circus skills, Bollywood dancing and African drumming. The IMPS “Watch out there’s an Injury about!” workshop gave the children the chance to make “fake wounds, dripping with fake blood” they also learnt how to apply slings and the recovery position.
Professor Al Aynsley-Green, the Children’s Commissioner for England attended the event joining in the fun !
