Health Visitor

I think IMPS training did make me begin to think about a career in health and helping others.
I still remember learning the recovery position and going home to practice and teach family members. I also remember the plaster cast finger. I remember being more cautious in parks to check the surrounding areas when playing.

Yes, Working as a nurse and now a health visitor I use risk management and injury prevention a lot. More recently in family homes helping them identify risks and working together to minimise these.

It seems such a long time ago now but I recently got the chance to come along to one of the IMPS session which enabled me to remember some parts of the training. Especially the videos shown, recovery position and the finger plaster cast. I definitely think this influenced my decision to start a career in health and making a difference to peoples lives.
