I want to know more about vaccines

Being vaccinated is one of the most important things we can do to stop us from getting poorly. Vaccines save up to 3 million lives in the world every year.

Since vaccines were first used in the UK, diseases like smallpox, polio and tetanus have almost disappeared. Along with other diseases like measles and diphtheria which have been reduced by 99.9%.

However, if people stop having vaccines, these infectious diseases can start to spread again.

This is why it’s so important to accept a vaccine when it’s offered to you by your doctor.
