| What do you do now? | I am a Resuscitation Assistant Practitioner at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. |
| Did I.M.P.S. help to influence this in any way? | Yes it did. I remember being a very excited 11 year old going into a big hospital, doing CPR training on a manikin called Mrs Green and having my finger plastered at the end of the day. |
| Have you ever used any I.M.P.S. skills? | Yes I have. During my A levels an elderly man fell off his bike. I instantly remembered everything I learnt during my I.M.P.S. training. I followed the sequence I was taught and stayed with him until the ambulance arrived. |
| Does your job require you to use any risk management, injury prevention or first aid skills? | Yes it does. As I work in a hospital and am a member of what is called the emergency team, I see a lot of patients who have had a fall or have collapsed and in some cases are in cardiac arrest. I also teach Basic Life Support to staff working in the clinical environment. |
| Do you think your I.M.P.S. training has made a difference to you? | Yes it certainly did. I did I.M.P.S. a long time ago but still remember it very clearly. I am more aware of my surroundings and what could happen but also feel confident that if anything did happen that I would know what to do. |
